Do I need to check in or write anything?
No. With the permissions you choose, Roamback records places and journeys in the background and builds your timeline for you. You can always edit a place or correct a detail.
What about my battery?
Roamback adjusts recording to how you’re moving and rests the GPS while you stay put. It also adapts to Low Power Mode. Battery use depends on your device, settings, and day.
Does my location leave my phone?
Your journal is stored locally and isn’t uploaded to Roamback. Apple Maps helps name places, and backups go to the folder you choose, which may be in iCloud Drive. Sharing a story sends only what you choose to share. Our privacy policy explains these services.
Can I bring my old location history?
Yes. Import Google Maps Timeline, Arc, Polarsteps, supported GPX, TCX, KML, GeoJSON or CSV files, and geotagged photos. You can also restore a Roamback backup.
Which iPhones can run Roamback?
Roamback is built for iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Optional Apple Intelligence features depend on device and language support; the journal does not require cloud AI.
