ROAMBACK / THE DETAILS
Terms of service
A few clear ground rules for Roamback: your journal is yours, you stay in control, and these terms explain what to expect from the app and website.
1. Using Roamback
These terms cover your use of the Roamback app and roamback.com. “Roamback,” “we,” and “us” refer to the team providing the app and website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using them.
You must be legally able to accept these terms. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, use the app only with the consent of a parent or guardian. Roamback is not directed to children under 13.
2. Your app license
You may use Roamback for your personal, lawful purposes on compatible devices you own or control, subject to the applicable App Store rules. The app is licensed, not sold. We retain rights to the app, its design, code, branding, and website content.
For versions distributed through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies unless a separate app-specific license is provided. These terms supplement that license for the website and the services described here; they do not replace mandatory App Store terms. Apple is not responsible for providing Roamback support.
Except where law or an applicable open-source license permits it, do not redistribute the app, bypass its protections, or copy our branding or proprietary materials. Do not use Roamback to unlawfully monitor another person, violate someone’s privacy, or infringe their rights.
3. Your journal belongs to you
You retain your rights to the locations, photos, notes, and other personal content you use with Roamback. We do not claim ownership of your journal. You are responsible for having permission to import, use, or share content.
The journal is stored on your device. Backups and exports go to destinations you choose. We cannot recover your local journal for you. Keep a current backup, verify that it can be restored, and retain files before deleting the app, replacing your phone, or removing a backup.
Our privacy policy explains local processing, device permissions, Apple services, backups, website request data, and support correspondence.
4. Recording and accuracy
Roamback builds a personal journal from available location, motion, photo, and imported information. Recording depends on device permissions, operating system behavior, battery settings, signal availability, and the quality of imported data.
Places, routes, activities, distances, trip boundaries, and inferred flights may be incomplete or inaccurate. You can correct supported details in the app. Roamback is a personal memory tool and should not be relied upon for emergency response, navigation, proof of attendance, legal evidence, or other decisions that require verified location records.
Use your phone safely and follow local law. Do not interact with Roamback while driving or when doing so would distract you from your surroundings.
5. Apple and other services
Maps, iCloud, the App Store, your chosen Files provider, and apps you share to are provided by third parties. Their availability, accuracy, privacy practices, and terms are their own. You are responsible for your device, internet connection, storage account, and any associated charges.
Optional sharing features transfer the content you select to your selected destination. Once shared, that content is subject to the destination’s terms and your sharing settings.
6. Availability, changes, and purchases
We may update, improve, or discontinue features and may change supported devices or operating systems. We do not promise that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, or compatible with every device. Preview and beta features may change.
If paid downloads or in-app purchases are offered, the price and applicable terms will be displayed before purchase. Apple handles App Store billing and applicable refunds under its rules and your statutory rights. These terms do not create a subscription or promise any particular future price.
You can stop using the app at any time. We may restrict access to the website or terminate a license where permitted if these terms are materially violated. Sections intended to survive, including ownership, responsibility for content, and lawful limitations of liability, continue after use ends.
7. Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Roamback and this website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free records, or recovery of lost data.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including losses caused by inaccurate records, interrupted access, lost data, or a third-party service.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. This includes applicable consumer guarantees and any liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or injury where the law does not allow an exclusion. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
8. Updates to these terms
We may revise these terms as Roamback changes. The effective date is shown above. We will provide notice of material changes when required by applicable law. Your use after revised terms take effect is subject to the revised terms, to the extent permitted by law.
9. Talk to us
For app support, questions about these terms, or to raise a concern, email hello@roamback.com. We’ll try to resolve issues directly with you. These terms do not remove your right to seek remedies available under applicable law.
